Hey guys,
Even though we've only shared a short time together here at Tocquigny, it's really tough to leave you guys so suddenly. Denise and I strive to bring in interns that are intelligent, passionate, and dedicated as well social and can fit in the agency well. I think we've definitely succeeded with this group and it sucks that I won't be able to see you guys spend your time at this great agency. I hope that you will all take advantage of your time here at Tocquigny. You are working with some of the brightest minds that I have been lucky enough to meet and work with. Hope you all are able to learn and develop professionally as well as socially.
I will be checking into this blog from time to time ,so I hope this group can make it an active one for once. Have fun, be safe, and good luck.

Re: Rounding Everyone Up
The blog seems like a good way to round people up for events. Also, be sure everyone sets up Jabber, that's another good way to communicate. Josh sent out an email on Tuesday in regards to Jabber, and I sent out additional instructions today on how to get started in Windows. If anyone needs help, just let me know.
Intern Schedules / Happy Hour
Hey all,
I'm Larissa from Account Planning/Research... I won't talk about myself because I'm not very interesting :)
but I would like bring up two points of business:
1) Intern Schedules
I have placed our schedules here: G:\_Agency - Intern Folders\Spring '08
It's the excel sheet...
I encourage you all to print out a copy to post somewhere in your cubicle so you can stalk whomever you want...
2) Happy Hour
From the schedule it looks like Wednesdays are the best time to do happy hour... all but 3 of us get off at 5:00pm or later, so shall we try to meet after work next Wed afternoon?
For you veteran interns, please instruct us as to how to best plan, communicate, and round everyone up

Hello
What's up everyone? I'm the new media intern. Yup.
Alright, about me. I was born in San Antonio but grew up in southern California, in a city just east of LA. I went to UC Riverside my freshman year, but decided to come back to Texas and transfer to UT. UT > UCR. I graduate in May, so I'm pretty stoked.
I like to be active and meet people. I love going out on the lake when it's warm. I'm currently learning how to play acoustic guitar (I suck). I can juggle, but it's not really a cool talent. I played varsity tennis in high school. I like playing basketball. I'm a college sports fanatic. I've never been outside of the country - I've lived in Florida and traveled to NYC and Chicago. My first name is Roger, but I don't go by that. Kids used to call me "Mr. Rogers" in 4th grade, and I'm just now getting over that. I think Family Guy is hilarious, except for the old episodes and the ones that go "too far."
You'll probably see me at any Tocquigny events where interns are welcome. I was at Buffalo Billiards last night for a bit, and it was fun. Just for the record, Lisa crushed me in darts.
That's about it. Hope to meet all of you soon.

The wheels on the bus....
My name is Rusty Kocian, I'm a 22-year old Marketing Senior at the University of Texas, graduating in May. I work with Brian and Jason in the Interactive Marketing department near the foyer. My business interests vary, spanning strategic marketing, consultative sales, print and web design, entrepreneurship, and trends in interactive media.
I love to travel; I've been all over the US, but some of my favorite cities include Chicago, NYC, Seattle, and Atlanta. Mexico is also a cool destination for Texas travelers, and I've spent a week in Monterrey and a cruise to Cozumel (where, incidentally, I won $500 on the craps table). My biggest adventure was the summer I spent in Hong Kong on a B2B sales internship. But I hope this is just the beginning of my world tour.
In my spare time I love to read: I'm a Harry Potter fan, love mystery novels, and even take an interest in books on marketing. Independent films fancy my interest, and I highly recommend checking out the Austin Film Festival in September if you get the chance.
I'll be here all day Tuesday and Thursday, and in the afternoon on Fridays, so if you get the chance stop by and say hello.

PREPARE FOR GLORY

As the old-timer, it falls on me to make the obligatory "Welcome!" post.
...Especially since Andrew seems to have misplaced his log-in email and, therefore, his password. Way to go, Andrew.
So I guess we can all briefly introduce ourselves when this all gets sorted out. I'll start:
I'm Jaclyn. I graduated May 2007, and it's 85% likely I'm heading to Miami Ad School in San Francisco this summer...or maybe fate will intervene and I'll stick around here at Tocquigny. I like Japanese manga, movie trivia, and all kinds of music except for country. I used to drive an Acura Integra (stickshift/standard) until it met an untimely demise. I'm Chinese. No pets, no football, no drinking, no American Idol. But I do love me some House M.D. I'm a video game/RPG junkie, and my lifestyle can't support the habit. I was born and have lived in Austin all my life, but I travel a lot, too. And I sleep on my stomach with my face in the pillow - and no, I don't know how I survive to wake up every morning.
Final note: As per Andrew's dying wish--I mean, last request before he leaves, I'm going to try to keep this blog as active as possible by posting at least once a week. The content won't be profound or anything, but maybe it'll give this bit of dusty webspace some personality and exercise.
And at least you'll have something you might want to read when you're tired of work.
Hope to see some of you at Buffalo Billiard's tonight!
- J
